Whip hoses are the short, flexible last section between your heated hose and the spray gun, and they take more abuse than any other hose on the rig. Christian Fabrication stocks Graco Xcelerator Xtreme-Wrap heated whip hoses for Reactor 3 in 10 ft and 20 ft lengths at 2000 psi and 3500 psi, the Graco High Flex 3500 psi whip for Reactor 1 and 2, the Graco Improved Flex LP whip with Xtreme-Wrap scuff guard, and unheated 3 ft and 5 ft whips.
A 10 ft or 20 ft whip lets the sprayer work a stud bay or climb a ladder without dragging the full heated hose behind him. Any contractor knows that difference adds up over a large project. Complete your own rig by matching the pressure rating to your proportioner and the whip to your machine generation.
Our Steel Braided Unheated Whip Hose, 3 ft includes two 3 ft x 1/4 in steel braided fluid lines and a 3 ft air line for systems up to 2000 psi, and the Unheated 5 ft Whip includes two 5 ft x 1/4 in fluid lines and a 5 ft air line. To protect your whip, add a Graco Xtreme-Wrap 10 ft Scuff Guard or a 7 ft Sidewinder Whip Hose Cover from our Hose Accessories and Repair collection. Full-length heated hose can be found under 2000psi Hoses and 3500psi Hoses, depending what you’re looking for.
What is a whip hose used for in a spray foam rig?
The whip hose is the short section, usually 3 ft to 20 ft, that connects the end of your main heated hose to the spray gun. It gives the applicator flexibility at the gun and the freedom to move without hauling the full 50 ft or 100 ft heated hose with every step, and it takes the scuffing, kinking and drag so the expensive main hose does not. When a whip wears out you replace the whip, not the whole run.
What is the difference between a heated and an unheated whip hose?
A heated whip like the Graco Xcelerator Xtreme-Wrap carries its own heating element with independent A and B temperature control, so material stays at spray temperature right up to the gun. Unheated whips are 1/4 in fluid lines and an air line with no heat; our 3 ft steel braided whip is rated for systems up to 2000 psi. For cold weather work or high pressure Reactor 3 rigs, heated is the safer choice.
What length whip hose do I need for my Graco Reactor?
Whip hoses here come in 3 ft and 5 ft unheated and 10 ft and 20 ft heated lengths. The longer 20 ft Xcelerator whips give more reach and moves the nearest hose junction back another 10’ from the sprayer so when they’re up on a ladder or scaffolding, that heavy junction can stay on the floor. Confirm the machine first: Xcelerator whips fit Reactor 3 only, while the High Flex 3500 psi whip and the Improved Flex LP whip are built for Reactor 1 and 2.
